What Kind Of Animal Tracks Are These?

I spotted these tracks leading up to the bench in my backyard a few days ago. My best guess is that I've got some rabbit neighbors. Am I close?

Looks like rabbit!

I've never seen one where I am, but others have reported seeing them around.

This is my guess...

Cottontail and gray squirrel tracks are both about 24 inches with the squirrel actually being a bit longer (up to 36 inches) unless the rabbit is running from a predator. The real way to tell would be to see the actual size of the footprint. Rabbits feet are much larger than squirrels.

With the absence of scat, given the locale and the running to the tree my guess is going to be for the gray squirrel.

I'd guess rabbit. But more importantly...that's your backyard? It's impressively park-like. Well done.

Bear. The small hopping kind.
